Every Life,
A Story.

The Friendship Club: A Melville Cares Story

A film celebrating the lives, stories and experiences of the people who call this place home. Through intimate moments and personal stories, the film captures the connections, memories and richness of life that continues at every stage.

Recognised for outstanding storytelling and direction by Aging Australia with the ‘YOU are ACE’ award

These two videos are part of a documentary exploring life within an aged care home, focusing on the people, stories and everyday experiences that shape the community. Time was spent with residents, building genuine connections and capturing their personalities, memories and moments of daily life. The project offered an opportunity to approach documentary filmmaking with patience and empathy, allowing each person’s story to unfold naturally rather than forcing a narrative. It enabled cast & crew to connect with people through conversation and observation, while highlighting the depth, humour and individuality that can be found within everyone’s life. Ultimately, the project became a reflection on the importance of listening, connection and giving people the space to share their stories.
